Yes, the Caligo Mister is designed to work with most residential AC units.
AC condensers are built to be outdoors and resistant to harsh conditions such as rain. The Caligo AC Mister’s water output has very similar properties to rain water. The mister only turns on when it’s hot to avoid constant exposure to water as much as possible. If too much water exposure is a concern, we do offer a coating that can be applied to your AC condenser for extra resistance to corrosion. This coating does reduce your energy savings slightly.
Using the Caligo AC Mister does not void any manufacturer’s warranty. According to the Federal Trade Commission’s Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (P.L. 93-637), a manufacturer cannot void or deny a warranty due to the use of an aftermarket product unless it is proven that the product caused damage to the equipment, and the manufacturer notifies both the aftermarket product maker and its customers. Neither Caligo Energy nor its customers have ever received any such notice or communication from a manufacturer.
